The Sinatra song lyrics just come at you as you walk around, crossing Broadway\u2026if you can make it here you can make it anywhere! The hotel we\u2019re in is on 42nd Street, giving you a whole different set of lyrics. I guess there must be a reason that Tin Pan Alley was here!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We left the hotel in Philadelphia at 9 this morning and took a leisurely bus ride north. The tour leaders popped a baseball movie into the DVD player\u2026the trip was just long enough to play through \u201cTrouble with the Curve,\u201d starring Clint Eastwood. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Today\u2019s baseball game was at Citi Field, pitting the Amazin\u2019 Mets against the Chicago White Sox. The Mets didn\u2019t put up much of a fight, losing 6-2. It was noted by multiple people that the home teams are 0-2 on this trip. I\u2019m not sure what that says about us\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n

One more bus ride followed the game, getting us from Citi Field to the Hyatt next to Grand Central Station. The tour guide knew something we didn\u2019t know\u2026and popped \u201cSandlot\u201d into the DVD player\u2026we almost got through the movie in the better than two hours it took to drive roughly 7 miles. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

But all is well now\u2026all checked in. I spent the evening exploring the neighborhood. NY is a really busy place, even now I hear a constant din of horns and sirens outside. Times Square was a crazy place, Grand Central was what you\u2019d expect of such a hub of transportation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Friday is free time until 4:30 PM, when we leave for Yankee Stadium. I have a 9 AM ticket for the 9\/11 memorial, and hope to do other sight seeing until game time. Talk to you tomorrow\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I like Citi Field better than Philly; seats had a better angle to the field. The food was good, but really expensive. Bottle of water was $5.25<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n
As for a mute Mr and Mrs Met leading \u201cTake me out to the ballgame,\u201d it\u2019s no wonder they needed subtitles. By the way, that\u2019s a really big scoreboard<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n
Grand Central is exactly that<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n
Hate looking like a tourist, but boy, those are taller buildings than I\u2019m used to<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n
There aren\u2019t many places that make me nervous, but Times Square did. So many people\u2026<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n
Thought about Bob Korten when I took this picture; that seems like more than a few years ago that i was running around Korten\u2019s, saying \u201cthe day I can\u2019t take the stairs two at a time is the day I retire.\u201d It turned out to be true, I certainly can\u2019t take stairs two at time!
